Get Traffic

Why Some Traffic Sources Convert Better Than Others

Visitors arrive with different intent, expectations and levels of trust. Someone searching for a solution behaves differently from someone interrupting a social feed, even if both click the same link.

What a sound approach looks like

Traffic becomes useful only when the visitor is relevant and the result can be measured. Start small enough to learn before you scale.

A good implementation is understandable to someone seeing it for the first time. It also leaves a measurement trail: you can identify what changed, where the visitor came from and whether the change helped.

What to do next

  1. Label every campaign and source.
  2. Compare the same meaningful conversion window.
  3. Adapt the landing message to the source context.

How to judge the result

Record the source, the page visited and the action that would count as progress. Compare like with like and give the test enough time to reveal a useful pattern. Keep the original version as a reference rather than changing everything at once.

Watch out: Do not compare raw click totals from sources that measure clicks differently.
